What's going on right now:

• Summer Camp Registration 2010 - Summer camp registration is now open for SCI-FI's summer camp programs in Saskatoon! We are working hard to finalize our Satellite Camp schedule for our non-Saskatoon locations - stay tuned for updates! Check camp availability or register now. 
  
• Classroom Workshops 2010 - Registration for classroom workshops in May and June 2010 is now open! Check out our workshop information page and the topics we're offering this year. 

• Email Updates - Subscribe to our mailing list to receive early notification about when registration opens for Summer Camps, Saturday Clubs, and more!

• March, 2010 - Registration opens for 2010 summer camps in satellite locations.

Recent Happenings at SCI-FI:

In 2009 we...

• were featured in a U of S Communications article about Kids Camps
• received a $51k 2-year NSERC PromoScience Grant (PDF)
• started offering a brand-new Computer Science themed camp
• partnered with three College of Medicine students to offer a Health Sciences camp

In 2008 we...

• reached over 13,000 students in 2-hour, interactive elementary school workshops.
• had over 1,650 campers register for our week-long summer camps in 20 locations across Saskatchewan!
• brought the fun and excitement of science and technology to over 50 Saskatchewan communities (scroll down for map)!
• partnered with Actua's Dream Team to deliver week-long science programming in Boys and Girls Clubs in Saskatoon, Toronto, Summerside (PEI) and Newfoundland!

In 2007 we...

• received the Actua Award for Leadership and Innovation (PDF).
• reached over 11,300 students in classroom workshops.
• had over 1,400 campers register for our week-long summer camps in 14 locations across Saskatchewan!
• enrolled over 80 kids in our fun Saturday science clubs!

About SCI-FI

SCI-FI Science Camps was started in 1989 by undergraduate students in the College of Engineering at the University of Saskatchewan. Since then, we have grown into a successful year-round program. Just this last year, SCI-FI was able to reach over 10,000 students with the message that science, engineering, and technology can be both educational and fun!

Today, SCI-FI is staffed by Engineering, Computer Science, Education, Biology and Kinesiology students and continues to expand its horizons. We carry out classroom workshops, community programs, science clubs, and during the summer months of July and August hold eight weeks of camps at the College of Engineering on the U of S campus. We also run camp in over 10 other locations across the province.

Actua provides training, resources and support to a national network of local organizations offering science and technology education programs. Actua members reach over 225,000 youth per year. Please visit Actua on the web at www.actua.ca.
